It is good to know someone with PD Aug 2004 in EB3 from India is getting approval. This gives me confidence that there are not many people waiting in line when the doors open in Oct 2007 with new quota.:)

Yes. Is there any Legislation/or anything that can be worked on to make it a Law for getting Citizenship application eligibility after 5 years (or 6 years considering time to process fingerprint/medical/etc..) of I-485 application Provided, it is been Pending for years becoz of Visa-Unavailability from state.

Just looking at the employment based inventory statistics, if every applicant were charged $2000 for visa recapture, it is close to $400M for uncle sam. All EB backlogs would be eliminated, new immigrants would continue contributing to Social security, pay taxes, buy new homes, invest etc... Cant they see the potential upside to this?

The bill being discussed in the senate if passed is going to be very detrimental to people that are stuck in the labor backlog centers. They wil be forced to redo their labor with the new point based system. That is not fair at all.

I called USCIS just for fun and the rep. who answered seems to have the updated VB. He says one is linked to another and he doesn't know what this means.. He asked me to wait for 15 days and call them back..

For those who follow NPR news, there is diane Reem show tomorrow on NPR radio and the subject is immigration reform.
It will be a good chance to make some sensible calls, but requesting to make a limited number of calls with clairty in questions, probably one at a time
Certainly a good chance (not to miss) so that our concerns can be heard across the country
If I understood it right, they wanted to remove the 10% per country limit for the Nurses and Physical Therapist since a majority come from 3 countries - India, China and Phillipines

First, try to ask the question properly with specifics. It could easily be understood the way I understood it. U ask a dumb question and u get a dumb answer . Also, there was never any sort of communication between ssnd and myself. That itself shows who's dumb.

Please don't think as if the IV guys walk in and talk and there you go.... the change is in effect.
It takes a lot to get the fixes like these.
Moreover , do not donate with the "IF" condition. Just donate and trust IV , everyone is working as hard ,to get the relief in any way possible for the guys in the line.
SO JUST DON'T WAIT AND START DONATING.

Man, in frustration people do not even know what to say and what not! Be very careful of what you spin and what you say. From the looks of it, this stuff has every chance of spinning out of control and it may have already started the ball rolling.Think about it for a second!. Once it goes that way, trust me, we will all live to regret that.
Yes, DHS approved upwards of 25000 GCs over the weekend, leading up to July 2nd. And some people are pissed off at that, err..why?
Remember, those 25000 are one of us. Once,they too were in line for Labor certifications, I-140s, medical exams and all that crap. And some of them were in the so called "FBI Name check" black-hole for an extended period of time. We should be rejoicing in the fact that most of those backlogs got cleaned up. Instead we have people questioning the validity of those newly approved GCs.My dear friends, god willing, we will all have GCs one day and tell me, how would you feel if someone else comes screaming at you just because he did not get one too.
Putting a "security lapse" spin on this could be very dangerous and should be avoided at any cost. I hope one of those anti-immigrant lobbies do not pick it up and start running with that. I prey that they do not revoke those already approved GCs, because if they do, then those poor 25000 souls will go through much more agony than what we are going through now.
It's very tough to get the genie back in the bottle once it is out, so think before you start popping that cork.

we are happy that uscis is showing great efficiency. the fact they screwed up with the original visa bulletin is a whole separate issue, the question is- why are we suffering for their mistake?
all iv memmbers are encouraged not to harp the security issue, it's not in our interest.

I am hoping they just dont tie EB2 I and Eb2 C at 15th Feb 2005 in April 2009.
Previously we have seen bulletins where Eb2 I and Eb2 C have tied up at 1Apr2004.
I dont know how many iterations it will take before it reaches the RIR/PERM boundary(1 Apr 2005)
We know predicting visa bulletin movement is next to impossible (for anyone) with even a semblance of a proven record (over a long period of time)...
But we still can't turn our heads away and resist the temptation to make an attempt, so here goes...for a tickle, if not anything else...
If previous years (particularly last year) are any indication, since EB2-C has been leading EB2-I for the first two quarters of the FY, it appears that they will tie up at 15FEB05 - IF there was any logic to this...
Now, we know there is no logic or method to this madness - so it might well move further or not move past 01APR04 or not move at all. Three more weeks and we'll know!

Please make appropriate changes to the letter stating the we are also the victims of DOL's backlog elimination center and at every stage of this process its taking years to get through. Mail your letter and completed Form 7001 to Ombudsman's office and lets see what they do it about it. Please post any responses you receive from Ombudsman's office.
