We have to first fight to get all visa number allocated. How?
1) Assign visa numbers to all I485 cases based on PD at the begining of each year
2) After assigning the visa number they can do the rest of the processing
3) If application is denied they can transfer the visa number to the next application in queue as per the PD
I think this is a good start and fair system which would slove some of the problem we have today.
We can work on getting the backlog eliminated seperately because this issue is going to take lot of efforts, money and politics.

I dont deal with junks...when you are so mean to spend a penny for your parents, every one knows how much you would contributed for IV.
I never said, I won't spend a penny for parents. What I said is, and you can go back to my post, is you should not send money to your parents to "support" them when your spouse is not willing to. Now I do apologize for how I actually said, since its misinterpreted, but again, if someones parents had money requirements, then they should make it clear at the time of "arranging" the marriage, not push it under the rug after marriage. And in this situation (pushing things under the rug), if your spouse does not agree to sending large sums of money continuously, then I don't find fault with her.
And you kiddo , you are not even married. So get married, and after 6-7 years of married life, and 1-2 kids in school, tell me your perspective.

This link which is giving prediction for Oct, 2007 looks totally off to me.
if you see his EB3 predictions he is saying it will be close to to Jan 2007.
Where in Jan 2007 EB3 China was Aug 2002 not April 2005.
Don't know what is the reasoning behind these predictions.

I'm not getting what's your point. All I am telling this guy and others that I need some statistics and why it is important to me. People who like my point will write them and people who will not like my point but still have the problem will modify the letter accordingly and people who should not care since they are not affected should just ignore this thread and move....

yabadaba, we will always have tough opposition when we try to do something. Your op-ed was very good and some people could not swallow it. You know some people can't imagine anyone from your country having good english! All these media efforts help us raise awareness, send our message across to the masses to counter anti immigrant propaganda. Due to our press coverage lawmaker offices too have started to take us seriously. I am still not sure, if its considered 8+2=10 months to complete the PERM labor or we should just consider 2 months from start. Every application should go through the first part of it ( in this case 8 months). Right?

If you are eligible to file I-140/485 now then how come you are stuck?
Remember nothing has become law yet..
MY employer is a consulting company and i had a rfe to my h1 extension for 8th yr so he wants to wait to answer rfe , then get approval and next file for next stages. I have tried all the ways to make him file and not able to.I just hope the new labor laws will help. Acc to that he shud file for next stages in 180 days starting july 15 th right. What is this May 15 thing?Any inputs. Thanks in advance.

I have just talked local Congresswoman's Office and I have talked to a staff member for 1 hour and she is helping me. She is going to call NSC and get to the root cause of this problem.

If you are reading this, do not lose hope. We have to try every avenue and knock every door that is open.
would you mind sharing what city you are in as its good to know that your local congress woman's office is helping you...

Agree. I still blame name check 180 rule - a major decision by USCIS/FBI helped this backlogg to go from bad to worst.
Name check 180 rule -it allowed thousands of people from EB1 / EB2 Row to get their 485 cleared and consumed major chunk of 2008/09 EB visas. Had it been not there, many old timers, would have used visas as their Name check would have been cleared before them.
Oh yeah, I hear you; I personally know many of my ex-colleagues in a big IT sourcing company who came to US in L1A got their GC through EB1 category within a matter of 6-8 months.....last years 180 rule change does benefit most of these fortunate guys.....

I was wondering which center my PERM app will go? Atlanta or Chicago? My co is detroit based. I am just filing now, so if it goes to chicago, there is a chance that I can file my I-140 before 1st October deadline (assuming the new CIR becomes law) .
