Your excitement is understandable, and so is your need to be here and let everyone know about your fulfillment.
Unfortunately, this situation is analogous to riding into a starving town and waving your loaf of cake (bread = GC, cake = USCzip) at the hungry and the poor.
How do you think it is going to make an EB3 feel who has been here just about as much time as you have been but is still waiting for his date to get current so he can expect some action?
When people here report their GC approval they do it because it helps others who are waiting know what their filing dates, PD, etc was.

Any of the guys who got these LUDs , was your 485 application transferred from say Vermont or CA to TSC or NSC and if so, did the Transfer Notice have a different Receipt date ?
Everyone who got these LUDs(because of pre=adjudication) has a Receipt date which is in line with the Service Center's Processing timeframe.
During the July fiasco, they were moving applications around so that they can receipt them faster.
The reason I ask is, my 485 receipt date from Vermont is 7/29/07. Then it was transferred to TSC and the Transfer Notice had a receipt date of 10/1/2007. I am wondering which receipt date they'd consider.
Anxious because I had a Change of address (200 miles) and so expecting a RFE.

AFAIK, the GC job has to be a permanent full-time position and not a part-time position.
So much pain we are facing in this process. Hope all see their GCs come through fast.
My attoreny said GC is for full time position and it is very well supported if the employee is working full time with the sponsoring employer. I can easily imagine getting it filed in 3-4 places working part time or not even working. I guess we can run into problems if working part time. There is also a column somewhere in H1B visa application form where they ask "Did anyone sponsor you an immigrant visa". Not sure if that Question comes anywhere in the forms for GC, but if so, what does one write? A list of other employers.May not be a good idea, but its my personal opinion, and I dont have any observation on this

Lou Dobbs was in Orange County this weekend as a Keynote speaker at the The World Affairs Council of Orange County. He launched into his usual vitriolic diatribe, there were many business leaders at the forum and he ended up polarizing the crowd. Some felt that he is all talk with no practical real life experience managing companies, his ideas are over the top and cannot be implemented. He never ran or lead a fortune 500 company or held a major political office, yet he critiqued the very organizations who sponsored tables for this dinner. A few did get carried away by his speech, i have to say that the crowd at the back was cheering wildly for him while the executives in the front were subduded. BTW this person with socialist leanings has hefty appearance fees.
We would be better off not wasting our time on him or rebutting his indirect accusations, he is playing to his crowd. We should play to ours.

I am glad IV is focusing more attention on the name check nightmare. I filed 485 in December 2006 (EB1) and am stuck in the namecheck.

IV will be soon posting some updates on this. We have done some ground work on this issue in the recent past and have got positive response. Stronger support from our members, will definitely help us push this agenda item. IV feels that this issue is going to be a big roadblock for a lot of us now, after people have filed their I485s. It is possible to get a much wider bi-partisan support on this issue by us and we are already pursuing it.

For eg.. I was talking to my friend in India and told him about the issues here, he did not understand, he thought I am having a tough time here and told me he has some friends in US who can help me out with immigration problems. When I explained our issues to some people here, some understood and some did not, they told me they know some lawyers who are very good and can help. One of my old employer started a new company in Atlanta and contacted me and asked me to join, but I told him I cannot because I am stuck with my ppresent employer and will lose priority date blah... he did not understand that and was confused.
I had the SAME exact problem, both, with people here (indian citizens who are now american citizens) and people back home. To the point where, once i was addressing a group of my community members and a couple of Indian american people absolutely REFUSED to belive that the Govt wud give illegals a better break than they wud give us, and that it had happened in the past. It took me half an hour and quite a few examples to illustrate how that was true.
About all the confusion with the priority dates. I Myself am confused about this whole Priority Date Nonsense. I mean the part about processing 485's based on PDs makes sense. Why you cannot even APPLY makes NO sense whatsoever. I have tried making a short speech to convey the problem to friends and co-workers. Each time it ends up being so long winded and detailed that it just doesnt make it worthwhile. Midway in the conversation, u can feel the other person mentally Yawning ;)

After consultation I was suggested that I needed an expert opinion letter from an Independent CPA telling that company can pay me the salary stated in the ALC. Now I need a CPA who can analyze the financials of the company and a lawyer who can write the letter to defend this case. I was wondering if anyone here can provide the service for CPA analyzation or sample letter on how to address this issue.

I have worked for some of the big Indian IT companies including HCL Technologies and Satyam and can tell you all that these companies are the most screwed up companies in terms of bringing in H1 and L1s from India and paying them peanuts for salaries. For example Satyam and TCS here in St Louis have a large outsourcing deal with Citigroup. There are about 50-60 Satyam Engineers here on H1 and L1 visas being paid around $45,000 per month+Benefits which is just about the Labor prevailing wage in this area.
Talk about rotten Desi companies and even the bigger players are not far behind in trying to suppress wages for Engineers and bending rules in lots of instances to bring in a flood of L1s/H1s from India to work on onsite projects.

and you dont need 15 sponsors for a bill. and having 3 sponsors does not weaken the merit of a bill. in fact most bills would only have less than 10 cosponsors.
And it was in the democrats' rule that the last EB favored legislation was passed.
