it seems like the IV tracker doesn't update immidiately... i've made a change to my PD as i had put a slightly wrong date... but the update hasn't kicked in as yet.

Is there any quota on filing the I 140s? My friend requested his employer for upgrading his 140 and he says that the attorney mentioned that the quota for I 140 is already full. I don't think it is right. Any inromation please.

Hi everyone,
I have a question on changing jobs. I am on my second H1b and my h1 expires in a little over a year. I have a possible offer for a job and would like to change. My question is if i DO change jobs right now, can i still apply for my PERM and will i be eligible for further h1b extentions?
A friend mentioned to me that your labour needs to be applied for atleast one whole year (even if it has been approved in PERM), to be able to apply for any kind of H1 extentions.
Can someone on here please tell me what the law is on H1B extentions and how it works exactly in a case like mine.

If ur current employer did not apply for a labor, it doesnot matter anyway, as u r in the same position.
Ur friend is right. However if ur I-140 is also approved, u will continue to get H1-B extensions beyond 6 years.

Lecter , the quality of your pics is first class...the sharpness which comes from very good optics is amazing.
Your subjects and locations, being so exotic to western eyes make for great portraits
The set you posted is great. This last one I like for the short DOF, the highly contrasted BW areas, the ripples on the water, and about the composition I like the geommetry of the photo, the intersecting diadonals of boat and pole, with the upright figure of the subject, and the way the sight is led to the boats in front.

p.s. Hey .....I hear Thai girls are very beautiful...couldn't you show us some of those too ? :D

Even in India some of the southern states dont like speaking in Hindi. In India, it is all about showing off, if your kid is here in US (as a slave on H1 B), Badi garv ki bat hai in India, dollar mein paisa banara hai na, isliye. The trend is more in AP (by the way i am from AP), where almost every family has one or more living and earning in phorein currency. As long as the native country cannot produce jobs for all (without reservations) and a decent standard of living, people will steal, lie, deceive, kill to come here to the US, and i guess they don't mind waiting for 20 yrs living as bounded slave, after all it is better here than the slum's isn't it ?

Same thing is true for me. For 4+years I was stuck in PBEC. Dates were current all along. Then filed 485 in Feb 07, dates were still current but name check was pending. Now that the NC isn't an issue, the dates are UNAVAILABLE! This whole thing is just screwing with my brain. To add to the mystery they decided to make a "soft" lud on my 140 yesterday. So just keep waiting like idiots ....
What about the thousands who lost 2-4 years because they were stuck in namecheck, now the name check is cleared but the dates will not move..frigging idiots..too little too late
Before giving the blue/green/red dots, think about this. they created a traffic jam and now they are suddenly releasing it. There were about 150-300k stuck in name check, now all of them are waiting for their PD to be current. (i am one of them too). Think how this will affect the overall queue.

I was thinking on how USCIS may be working.. heres my thought.
Boss come out of the cabin and a clerk approaches and says, Saar ji need vacation kids are getting bored in their summer vacation, boss being in a good mood announces okie everyone go on vacation for 2 months, also ask the internet guy to make the dates "UNAVAILABLE"
Then some seniors are planned to visit the USCIS office, since the dates are not current all the clerks are chit chatting, playing games on computer, texting..etc etc.. boss comes out of his office and says, what all you guys are doing ?? Get back to work.
Again a clerk comes to the officer and says :D saar dates are not current what do we do, nothing is there to do. Boss turns really angry and says go and preadjuducate the preadjudicated cases and send RFEs. Show that you are working, make some calls threaten people of fraud, send finger printing notices.
To check if this huge force is working or not he logs on to immigrationvoice.org and and start browsing the threads and then he find people posting question about the RFE on medical TST etc etc.. He is happy and satisfied that his clerks are working and may get an appraisal from his who is likely to visit the office anytime.

Response times are now determined by service centers. Earlier it used be be 12 weeks but now it depends on evidence type
