Thank you for the response. I correct myself, I shouldn't say Visa. I mean Approval Notice. With the approval notice in hand which is effective May 2007, can I switch employers before that and get a transfer of H1 for the 3 years based on that or will I have to wait till May? Thanks!

Donate 1 million dollars to USCIS, they will come to your house to handover the card. I believe that is the only way you can expedite, as for as I know.
LOL, If s/he has or had or saved $1m then might not have been a "Bpositive" handle on IV and his/her handle elsewhere may read as iwasintheus, packandgo:D
My I-485 is current as per Aug bulletin (dec 2004 eb2). Any suggestions on how to make sure the application is processed by IO? Anyone with prior experiences/success doing this?

Thanx a lot. I have been searching for a non profit job for the last 4 months with no result. That is why I am trying to find other options. I also researched the GC, but I am not sure if u can work with the Labor Cert only or need another visa.

Thing is inspite of these recommendations they reverted the July bulletin with no notice period to public. Not sure why they recommend and have the office Of Ombudsman if USCIS does not implement their recommendation?

Pineapple, although I dont have a solution to your problem I can definitely say that something is better than nothing. The senate dont have a problem with legal immigration, as long it is legal. If we can get our EB provisions as a part of this bill, most of them will be happy. There will quirks that can apply to immigrants as well, but that has to be addresed by the part of overall nature of the bill.

I guess we should ask them to remove the employer's restriction, which is the prime reason for extreme exploitation. H1b should not be restricitive. IV should also address the same. We are looking at the current problem with retrogression only, but what about future aspirants who come on H1.

My wife is a Canadian citizen, what is the process of getting a H4 for her? (I am on an H1-140 approved).
1)Do I file an app with USCIS?
2)Can she go apply at the US consulate in Canada?
What type of documents, forms are involved ?

I have been waiting for EAD for the last 120 days. I had an info pass inquiry last month. I was told that my I- 765 and AP applications are on hold because of back ground check. Please advice can I get interim EAD from Detroit office while my application is on hold. I have info pass inquiry for next week for Interim EAD, will Detroit USCIS office help me out OR just another endless waiting time. I don�t know what to do, I have been out of work for last 4 months because of work permit. Can anybody advice me, what should I do. I have applied for I-485. Thanks

What are those little green squares that show up with our names when we post something?? When you hover over them you see a ToolTip message.
Are they supposed to tell us if we've been Naughty or Nice this year? :cool:
They represent reputation points.Everyone will have one at starting.As people start to add you the reputation points..The green squares will increase.Sometimes they depend on number of posts you posted in the forum.

It's interesting that people rely on consultants and body shoppers to enter this country and then curse them.
I doubt that so many people would have entered the US if it hadn't been for these very consultants and body-shoppers. Everyone knows that they pay less and take a cut of the salary. People curse them all the time and yet when it's convenient, they'll use them to get things like H1B application, labor substitution, etc. done.
I am on an H-1B visa I had a confusion regarding my wife's case. She is on H4 visa and her H4 visa was extended to September, 2009 when I changed my employer (XXX) last year. However, her passport carries H4 visa which expires in Oct. 2007 (this was through my previous employer, YYY). Both our I-485 are pending and we both received our EAD last month. She wants to use her EAD to work in future.
A twist is that a consultant had filed for her H-1B this April and we don't know if her H-1B came through or not. He is not telling us. We just don't want to deal with that scumbag. Can we just ignore him and forget about it? Since her I-485 is pending she has a lawful status (Pending AOS), right? Please let me know what you think.

TO HRPRO: Thanks for your advise, going back to do the formalaties wont be an option, but yes she can go back to apply from over there for a H4, we are planning to send our docs to the embassy so that we can get a marriage certificate from her country, will that help?

There is no FIFO system.. whatever gets picked out of the DUMP gets processed.. I don't think one can draw any conlcusion based on approvals..
