    Another key Republican calls for H-1B cap hike - Computerworld (http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9215970/Another_key_Republican_calls_for_H_1B_cap_hike)

    I think there is a need to educate politicians that the problem is not H1B but GC backlogs. As per USCIS only 7100 H1B's have been utilized so far for FY 2012. Unless they provide clear and time bound path to Permanent Residence, positive economic contributions from high skilled immigrants would be minimal.

    That's your conclusion , You are comfortable with word "nature" Some like to call it "god" , Some like to call "Bhagwan" Some like to call it "Jesus" Some like to call it "Allah", Some "Buddha", Some "Guru nanak"

    Same goal different Name

    OK my conclusion:nature exists but not GOD.

    For you
    it's nature = GOD
    I mean
    nature = Rama/Krishna etc..(If you are a Hindu)
    nature = Jesus(If you are a christian)
    nature = Allah(If you are a Muslim)
    .

    Thank you guys,

    Even if it's EB3? Eb3 requires only Bachelor, without any experinece, am I wrong?

    Only Eb2+ 5 years of progressive work experience requires all the employment letters throughtout the 5 years. Am I accurate?

    Thank you again for your help.

    Depends on what your company gave as the qualifications for the position. In my case it was EB3 bachelors + 2 years work experience so I had to give experience letters.

    came across "www.desicrunch.com" !! reviews on this website are streotype but if used honestly it could be useful to the community.

    google it...

    i know desi crunch.

    in my humble opinion, we will never find justice and fairness here. UK has already moved in that direction as well. at the rate it is going, every year the GC queue gets longer by _seven_ years.

    what is the point of giving me a GC when i'm 70 years old? I've been enslaved all my productive life. What'll i do with a GC in a senior citizen's home?

    sadly, the main instrument in our exploitation have been other desis. people at work use my work to become CTOs. i get 500 buck a _year_ increase. when i complain they say "indians can't talk" so they can't rise. what crap. I've lived all over the world and no one ever said i could not talk. they just want to come up with ways to take credit of your work.

    tell me, would they ever let a new mexican (even if he is a genius), work in anything except washing dishes or a pizza shop?

    Since we cannot vote, and don't have enough money to lobby (bribe) the politicians, we're orphans here. here money talks, BS walks.

    a gori told me once - 10 years ago indians used todrive mercedes, now most of them seem poor, now russians drive mercedes. i told her, indians are poor because by law most of them are forbidden from doing anything else except what the govt authorises them to do. russians come direct on GC. land of opportunity, right.

    Guys, write to the Indian parliament, Indian foreign ministry, prime minister. I know they're useless, but they're good at shaming others, especially goras. if we can't get justice, at least we can get some satisfaction by shaming these a**holes.

    I always loved this board for what it does - especially the Gurus who always spend their precious time giving input to member's queries. Well... this is not query. I just want to vent my frustration, helplessness to fellow friends in this board. In spite of graduating from a reputed univ with a Masters and very good GPA and also having 7 years of professional experience, I am bound to be a slave to my current Employer without any promotions, career growth or anything remote to that for next (God knows how many Decades) several years. ppl who are junior to me in every aspect are growing left and right and are also getting brighter opportunities. I dont care if you guys think I am jealous of them.... But does God really exist ? sorry for wasting your time with this depressing note. I guess there is a limit to how unlucky I can be !! call me a cry baby but I am one real unlucky individual !

    Hello there,

    I have been wanting to make an IV contribution for a long time and here is my problem..I probably can be labeled a miseror a magpie! ..Whenever I go to the IV link to contribute and see the $50 or $100 option I panic and get out..yes I do!
    I have some desi colleagues and was discussing this issue with them at work..and they had the exact same experience..wow..I am not the only magpie..

    But hey is'nt IV the one which is at the receiving end not getting our contributions..

    I speak from my own experience and call me a mapie or a miser..or whatever..I cant make myself make a $50 or more contribution .. thats the way I am..But I can sure make a smaller contribution (like a monthly recurring $10 contribution which really is easier to make) and I am quite sure IV will benefit from my small contributions as well as i think a lot more people will not hesitate making contributions in smaller denominations than a whopper $50+

    And really this is not related to IV effort but more to do with my own way of thinking about parting with my money..I love my money..:)...

    My history - Made $0 contributions so far..and have been wanting to contribute for a long time now..but keep backing away..

    Applied for EAD extension on July 18-2008 (expiring on Sep, 2008), less than 90 days. Today (Aug 15, 2008) received an email saying "Current Status: Card production ordered." for self and wife. No idea whether it is 1 year or 2 year extension. APs are still spending.

    Folks I had an infopass this morning for EAD pending more than 90 days. The officer basically told me cannot issue EAD but will contact NSC to check status and gave a customer information receipt saying "Our records indicate that your I765 is pending. I will contact NSC for further review of your application"

    I was very disappointed by this. Is there anything else I can do to get interim EAD? I still don't see a LUD on my case.
    I took 3 infopass appointments but not one helped, but if they take your FP in the infopass appt, you may get your EAD approved after 4-5 weeks(as happened with me)

    Are there any implications of leaving my employer now who sponsored me for GC? I got my GC on the first week of July. I plan to leave on the 1st week of September. Thank you very much.

    Addendum: I applied for AOS for my spouse this July. Will there be a problem with her AOS?

    I am not sure if you GOT GC or you filed 485.

    Based on AC21 law, you have to stay atleast 182 days after you file 485. More so if your I-140 is still pending.

    So I would say 182 days from the receipt notice of 485 is mandatory to avoid complications. It should not affect your citizenship. I have 100s of friends who have invoked AC21 and quite frankly I dont care about citizenship. One thing at a time :)

    Instead of asking people on this forum i would say it is a question which needs to be addressed to the education evaluations people. They are the best persons to provide you with proper advice and guidance.

    Note that when you call Customer Support, they recognize Receive Date what you see in your online status as "...your case was received on...", which may be quite different than RD on your receipt. [/QUOTE]

    Yes, I agree - my experience has been the same. The customer service representative insisted the receive date was whatever showed up in the online status, even though it was ~45 days after the receipt date printed on my receipt notice.

    Btw, I have a question about background/namecheck. I remember reading someplace (official) that fingerprints are valid for a period of 15 months. Now imagine this - at the end of that period, you are fingerprinted again, and while the background/namecheck is in progress the "annual lottery" period opens up in Jul/Aug/Sept. Is that file skipped again since background check is pending?
    Regardless of what laws USCIS vouches for, I believe this is what happened during last year "lottery season" in Aug/Sept. My background check was completed and entered in the system mid-Aug., while the USCIS ran out of visa numbers a week or two later.

    Hi,

    I have 3 yrs degree + 1 yr PG diploma. I have been working in industry for past 17 years, and don't think any degree or even doctorate would add much to my qualification for the job that I am doing.

    I am currently filed in EB3 category, and new company I am changing job to are ready to refile my GC. But they won't file my GC in EB2 category, as I don't meet the 4 yr BS requirement.

    My son will be in the highschool in 4 years, and I don't want to spend a lot of money on getting MS to myself. But for the GC I am looking for fastest and cheapest way to get MS program. I have no idea how it works, what qualifies me for a degree, what can I get credits for. Any inputs would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi GC_rip,
    I am as well in the similar situation as you are in. I am looking to do MS from Aspen University. Its is full online program and it costs approximately $4000 to complete masters program. I have been trying to know more about that university and until now I did not hear anything bad about the university except that the univerisity is Nationally accredited university. I am trying to know whether USCIS accepts Masters from Aspen University. Please let me know if you have got any information regarding this.

    I am really shocked to see that several of us in our community are still ignorant about the magnamity of the Green card situation.

    Just this morning, I was talking to one my friend urging him to participate actively in the IV efforts and the answer I got was, "What for? , now that my I-485 is filed, I should get my greencard in a year." His PD is April 2006.
