I'm not blind to stereotyping in this forum or elsewhere. It's not you vs. them kinda thing. You ARE stereotyping based upon some TRUE things but it is still stereotyping, isn't it.
Also, you understood some of my comments wrong. All I was saying is that due to big ISV's like TCS/INFY/WIPRO and mushrooms of bodyshops the actual worker gets pennies on a dollar and they keep the booty. So it's not the worker who causes wage depression it's the circumvention of the spirit of law that these companies do which causes it. I say "spirit of law" because they still stay within the legal framework. As far as offshoring is concerned it's a big discussion in itself and forces of capitalism and globalization are at work. None of us can prevent that but we can counter it by moving up in the value chain.
The scenario you described about modus operandi of big Indian ISV's is 100% correct but to generally imply that Indians are 1/5th as good as Americans when it comes to IT (50 member team vs. 10-12 member team) is a supremacist attitude and completely untrue.
It is true that the Indian counterparts are usually of much younger age but rarely substandard for the job. Companies realize that IT is no-longer considered rocket-science and they can save a few bucks. Try to think objectively keeping personal impact aside.
Now regarding overall economic input of immigrants there are issues broader and larger than you mentioned. Some of the smaller points you mentioned are true but you are completely missing the big picture. We can discuss that in a different thread :)

Among the 65K every year you'll find people from all skill levels, cream-of-the-cream to just-about-ok, and a few rotten-apples too. The immigration system is not designed to test skill level. Overall it's old, irrelevant and doesn't help anyone. It needs to be re-designed but unfortunately people are divided on fake lines and ignore the real issues or rather real solutions.

Travelling via London Gatwick and Dubai to India and back. No airport change required during transit. Using AP, visa expired. I have a valid Canada PR card.
According to UK embassy US GC and Canada PR card holders do not need transit for direct airside transit. Does anyone have any experience in this situation? Please post. Thanks

I've sent the letters to the WH and IV. Hoping for the best.
I, however, have some questions for the senior members of the IV team. Especially for the ones who are active in the lobbying efforts in Congress and the White House. How realistic are the chances for Green card visa numbers relief, even for the longer term? It seems like there are immigrants from 2 countries - India and China who are adversely effected by the low visa numbers. If one is an immigrant for any other part of the world, it actually isnt that hard to get a Green Card thru employer sponsorship. That being the case, do you think Washington would consider this an issue that needs expedient resolution or for that matter an issue that needs a resolution at all?
Dont want to sound like a downer in this inspiring thread, but at the same time, any answers to my question will be greatly appreciated.

what i mean is you should take out the H1B part from the letter and then send it to your lawmakers. the letter is modifiable- you can add, delete or change content before sending it.

I got the CPO email first. In another days 6 days got welcome mail. Then the status changed back to post decision activity. 5 days from there, I got the cards. Even today the status says the same.
Looks like you are so much addicted to check USCIS case update, you still checking your status after you receive your cards :)

And to make matters worse, this jerk married a Mexican woman. He is alway behind Mexico and Mexicans for some reason. Imagine that, he lives in NJ, has a several acre house, makes 7/8 figure salary and then teaches American middle class a lesson to avoid goods produced in China/Mexico/India. Avoid them because they add up to trade deficit of USA, avoid them because those countries have stolen jobs from middle class Americans. Why doesn't Lou Dobbs stop using software written by some Indian/Chinesse guy? Why doesn't he stop eating at a place where in the kitchen a Mexican guy is making his meal? why doesn't he stop using Japnesse cars? Why doesn't he quit eating Pizza....afterall it is Italian food? Why doesn't he stop driving on interstate highways...part of those were made by African Americans. I am asking Lou Dobbs to show me his grand father's VISA/I-94 when he came to the USA, on a ship, half starved, half naked from some european country and never went back! This guy blames mexicans/legal or immigrations for this country's broken health care system. Other day, he was concerned that in California, especially L.A. and surrounding area, white people's percentage has gone below 50%, Mexicans and Indians are having too many kids, whites are not having enough kids.........this is by far the most racist program CNN runs and we need to do something to put a stop on it.

Since most of the consulting companies employees strength is less than 50 ( I believe) the rule of 50% rule will not be applicable and they can file application till they reach 50.

Without legislative or administrative reform, EB3-India would be reduced merely to a mechanism which folks would use to extend their H1Bs indefinitely on the basis of the underlying I-140, or a means to lock a priority date while they plan their strategy for an EB-2 petition for a PD port in the future. As some analysts have predicted, EB3-India wait times might get extended to decades without some sort of reform. Not to make light of the situation, but for an EB3-I applicant with a recent PD, the odds of getting a green card through a US-born child (once they turn 21) could become greater than through their own EB application.
"interfiling" to use old EB3 PD for new EB2 is not the easiest path for EB3-I guys specially if they have used AC21 and work on EAD now ( Most of us are in this category). Priority date porting is not an issue, USCIS does not have a problem with that. The problem is with "Job definition and level". While one use AC21 claims job position matching EB3 job classification and if there no enough progression gap between AC21 usage and "inerfiling" It becomes hard for a lawyer to convince USCIS that fellow is matching EB2 capability under same job classification. Hundred of such intefilings are waiting without no action from USCIS. My lawyer's advice wait till we logically can establish the skill progression, in other words minimum 3 years of wait from the day AC21 usage. And other important thing is "real promotion" in position should happen at employment and this whole explanation is based on assumption of employment at the same employer. If you change employment inbetween after AC21 usage and before interfiling , your 3 years wait cycle starts from new emploment date. I have not filed "interfiling" just because of these reasons and waiting for correct time to do that. In other words Eb3-I is really and badly screwed.
