I am working as FTE (no client). Our office physically moved to a new address within the same Metro area. There is no change in wage requirement as per flcdatacenter. In fact, flcdatcenter consider this as same division.

I personally think, contacting lawyer for tracking number is not breach of contract.
Try your HR first, give some time. Then sseend a decent reminder - tell them how important it is say ur wife has to travel etc...
Then send some pleasant emails to lawyer office, call them. Copy your HR also.

I have an NRE account and I get a 1099-INT every year from my bank for that account. It clearly states that the interest has been reported to the IRS and therefore must be shown on the 1040.
We were talking about taxes at work and someone mentioned that all bank accounts in home country should be reported to IRS. I opened a bank account(NRE) in India before I came to US and get minimal interest income from it. Should I be declaring the income to IRS? The income is so low that I don't have to declare it in India so I didn't bother. I do not have a green card (am on H1B). Can you confirm if I am supposed to provide this info in tax returns. I did do some research on this and from news articles it seems like what my colleague mentioned is true. How do I go about providing all the info now? Is this going to impact my GC process?

The receipts will be generated not by Priority Date but by Physically received date. This was obvious right from beginning, but some questions were raised on this forum.
Even though this is how they have documented it, in many of our cases, the packet was received for or signed for at least 1 week before the receive date. When I received the notice, my receive date was June 14th, my notice date was June 16th, but the Fedex reached and accepted date was June 8th:) I guess since there is a back log, may be they started stamping the packets received date and then entering them as the receive date due to back logs on receipting itself. Thats my thought.

What is unfortunate is that whenever they talk about 'immigration', it always refers to the illegal immigration problem. The US already have a legal immigration process. Fix this first before dealing with the illegal problem. If there was a functional legal immigration process, it would resolve some illegal immigration issues.

There was a memo from USCIS for in-time receipt compliance for I-485 ( along with other forms) for 8/1 supposedly for June filers.
As I understand it, not all June filers got receipt yet. So obviously USCIS can start looking at July filers only after 8/1 or later.
Another recent memo says on in-time receipt compliance for I-485 to be 10/24. I am guessing it was meant for July/Aug filers.
So between 8/1 and 10/24, we are suposed receive the receipts from USCIS. To me, earliest we should talk about cashing the checks sometime is first week of Aug.
Does it make any sense ?

The H1B are positioned better as they can relocate quickly. Most of USC and GC dont relocate due to housing ownership. While H1B homeownership is low.
I personally know atleast 20+ USC not willing to move to greener grounds just because they have house.
Housing did create a biased USC/GC jobseeker.

On the surface, the workloads of the new H-1B petitions have been substantially reduced for the agency, but in reality, the employers that filed the new H-1B petitions have been facing tons of boiler plate Request for Evidence demanding tons of documents over and over causing tremendous delays in adjudication of the petitions. The hostile environment does not end with the new H-1B petitions. Report indicates that the H-1B workers are increasingly stranded abroad not being able to obtain the visa stamp abroad pending so-called protracted security checks and consequently not being able to return to the U.S. to resume employment. Should this environment continue, the business environment for the U.S. businesses will continuously deteriorate and the businesses will continuously suffer unless they take out their businesses and jobs abroad to meet the needed workforces in order to stay in business in increasingly competitive global economy. Nothing will be able to stop the offshore outsourcing of the U.S. businesses. This is something the Obama Administration should think about very quick before too late.

This question is arising a lot. It really should be asked of the Q&A session with the immigration lawyer. It clearly is figuring in the thoughts of a lot of members and if she is not sure she can perhaps clarify it through the AILA liason.
My understanding is that your 140 and its associated PD is protected only if you have filed 485 and are waiting 180 days. In cases where 485 is not filed, I believe you need the cooperation of the previous employer who has to leave that petition open until you get to the 140 stage with the subsequent employer at which point you could substitute the PD.
I know a few of the lawyers have said otherwise but I am not sure what their basis is for that. I think it needs some clarification. It may infact be so and that would be great but clearly with half baked knowledge in this era of massive retrogression it could turn out to be a painful mistake if the clock has to reset!

I have my visa stamping this week in Nogales, Mexico. Does anybody have any advice, tips, etc? Hoping to get my stamping on the same day of my appointment, thats one of the reasons I booked by appointment there.

i think, not sure, if you are in US then for renewal in same visa category (or) to transfer from one visa category to another (like F to H visa, etc.), you can goto canada or mexico or india for visa revalidation.
But for new first time H1 visa, i think you should get it from india based on your home state jurisdication. you can check immigrationportal.com regd this there might be threads related to this...

I traveled via Lufthansa last month ( EWR-FRA-MAA) and had approved H1B petition on hand ( to show that I'm legally working without any gaps) and on returning I showed AP.
If you look at German consulate site, they have mentioned that if an Indian citizen residing in US is traveling to India, then he just need to have proof of continuous legal stay in US.
If an Indian citizen living in US is travelling to say, Australia, then he needs to have German transit visa in addition to Australian Visa.
While returning, it is either AP or valid stamp on passport.

The way the government is trying to make money by first increasing H1-B fee and then adding premium processing and then adding I-140 premium processing, it looks like we are not too far from premium processing everything in GC(I-485 etc).
They could introduce a jumbo offer for $20,000 and you get GC within few days.
