I apologize if I may have violated the rules with regard to asking a question about selling an item, it's not may intention to come here to pawn something off.
As for my friend, we have known each other since kindergarten (now in our 30s) and I originally offered to give it to him for free but he insisted on paying a fair-market price.

Dang no one else going to Aventura FL?
I'll be calling later this afternoon to see if they have any stock left, and if they do, I'll be stopping by around 6 ish p.m.
Too bad I had to work today and couldn't take the day off - my manager has it off! :(
In the meantime, iWait.

Games are a bit different but if you run the desktop or other apps at 1920x1080, it won't look great. Even in games, I'm sure you can notice a difference if you are honest.
Yes you can. Don't argue with me, I have been switching back and forth on Crysis 2 and there is definitely a noticeable difference.
However Games still look good with 1920x1080 on the 27" iMac.
How about 1080p movies in full screen mode? Does it look bad? Do you guys prefer watching it through a window at 1080p?

a few things you can do other than getting a stabilizer or mount.
- use built in optical stabilizer (assuming one)
- practice "body as a tripod", keep camera close to body, turn body, not camera.
- use the grid display function (assuming one) as a static reference. it's easier to see shaky movement on a static line/grid vs. dynamic motion.
- adding any weight to the camera will help. This technically a stabilizer, but as an example you can add weight via the threaded 1/8" tripod mount, an 1/8" bolt and some washers.
- use a monopod. a lot of tripod functionality but you can run with it.

No pink on the 23" I've been using for two months now.
Some residual ghosting with high contrast images that don't move, and a 2 inch band of slight discolouration down the left side. I do design and colour matters but for proofing I deal with a broadcast monitor for video or the printery for paper based.
I bought Applecare with my G5 and screen. Figure I'll test for six months and then return it if the problem becomes an obstacle to work.

I surfed on to this page (http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/productlist.aspx?fprint=yes) and notice MS introducing fingerprint technologies. And i think its a pretty good idea. I want to know if it was mac compat. or if apple was considering introducing something like this in the future. or just what pple thought in general about it.

Hey everyone, first post here, and also a Mac noob, so I apologize if this is in the wrong section :)
I am trying to enable file sharing in OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. I intend to share files on my MacBook with other Windows and Linux computers on my home network. From what I understand, the procedure is as follows:
1) Open up System Preferences and click on Sharing under Internet & Wireless
2) Click on File Sharing on the left, and then add a folder to be shared. After doing this, three Users appear on the right: System Administrator, Administrator, and Everyone (all have read/write access).
3) I want my folder to be password-protected and accessible only to specific users, so I change the permissions for Everyone to No Access. I then add a user (sharing only account) with a specified username and password.
4) I click on Options and select the "Share files and folders using SMB (Windows)", and enable SMB sharing for the user that I created in the previous step. I click on Done, and exit System Preferences.
After performing the above steps, I go to my Linux computer and attempt to connect to the shared folder on my Macbook. I was surprised to be able to access the folder without being prompted for a username and password. The same thing can be seen on my Windows computer.
I went back into Systems Preferences/Sharing on my MacBook, and noticed that the user that I had created has disappeared from the Users list, and all the permissions have been reverted to the default Read & Write Access (including Everyone, which I had changed to No Access earlier). I tried the above procedure again and still ended up with the same result.
Why are the user permissions not being saved? Has anyone here experienced a similar issue?

The iPhone 4 was a failure at launch. The antenna is broken. It drops Internet connections and calls if held a certain. The glass claiming to be strong is weak sauce and the only good things on the phone are the cameras and screen.*
Am I the only one who feels this way?
Have you had trouble with your claws scratching the glass?

Will I be able to put the retail version on a flash drive? Because my dvd drive is pretty much busted.
Yes, I did the same for my flatmate's 1st gen MacBook whose drive is also bust.
Would it be possible just to clone my Macbook 6,1 HDD and restore it to the HDD on the 1,1?
I'm not sure if this can be done without any problems.

that's a great idea. unfortunately, i'm in the political science department and i try to stay the hell away from anything biology-related. i'll send out some emails and see if i can find someone who's willing to order some stuff and get some shuffles for us. thanks for the tip.
Well, if you know someone in a Bio lab who handles ordering ...
Whatman is having a special through Fisher Scientific, where if you spend $300+ on Whatman products, they give you a free 512 Ipod Shuffle. It is trivial to spend this much if you do a lot of protein work. Nitrocellulose membranes are pretty expensive, and Whatman Optitran is good stuff. Some labs are spending this amount anyway every couple of months for membranes.

My impulse would be to simplify it, the little touches like the leaves and the mains plug, add to a sense of disorganisation. Personally, I'd start with a solid green and leave off the white swash at the bottom unless that's a critical part of the branding.
Prioritize the key words.
I'm going to confirm the same message.
I was particularly bothered by the bottom swoop. And since this has to do with e-waste, clean and technical is the way to go... no need for any leaves.
The main message is FREE E-Waste Recycling HERE... it's not an ad for a service, it's a signal to people that right HERE is where you drop e-waste off for FREE. So I'd definitely make those two aspects very clear. Arrows can help reinforce that, but it needs a little work.
The e-waste part is more difficult. What exactly is e-waste? Do batteries count? You can't explain all of that in a simple sign. So while I like the idea of adding a few icons to help illustrate what e-waste is, I think they could be much smaller.
Another thing that I'm missing here is availability. Can I just drive up and drop things off anytime I like? Are there specific hours or days this is open? If so, is that information clearly available elsewhere or does it need to be included?
They say a picture is worth a thousand words... but sometimes a word is worth a thousand pictures. Once you use the word "Recycling" you don't need to include the recycling symbol. You certainly don't need to give it such prominence.
I hope that helps some. Now that you've gone cross-eyed starring at this thing for so long, we just gave you number of reasons to stare at it a while longer. Sorry. Designers will do that to you. :o

Not sure. Only time I was there was for iPhone 4 last year and lines were insane. Really have nothing to compare it to lol.

You can upgrade the RAM to a maximum of 1.5 GB on later 12" PBs and 1.25 GB on earlier ones, using a 1 GB PC2700 RAM stick.
The hard drive can also be upgraded to (I think) any capacity IDE/P-ATA 2.5" laptop drive.
I don't know of any processor upgrades; you might check Sonnet's website to see if they have any.
Also, video editing and encoding on a G4 is not quite what I'd call "less intensive" use--it can do it, but it'll be slow.
And depending on the processor, Leopard will be OK--the faster the CPU, the better. Leopard on a 867 MHz G4 12" could be painful, though . . .
What a shame that the late iBooks maxed out at 1.5gb of memory but the 12" Powerbooks maxed to 1.25gb :(.
The largest capacity for IDE/ATA 2.5" hard drives are the Western Digital 320gb 5,400 rpm drive. They do make SSDs for the older format but they are more costly than the SATA drives.
The CPU/GPU are not upgradable unfortunately as they are soldered. Can't really upgrade the motherboard unless you are replacing it with the same one or replace them from the same model #, you can upgrade a 1.33ghz > 1.5ghz motherboard.
Any of this cost effective, no. But if you want a decent little living room laptop, they are great little devices. I'd also consider a last-gen 12"-14" iBook G4.
Also note, the 12" Powerbook is also the worst laptop to work on if you need to replace anything. Just try upgrading the optical drive :p

As I said, you need to be explicit about what it is you have and the result you want. For instance...
I have a dictionary that I'd like to use with a UIPickerView to select two values from and display in two UILabels in my app. The dictionary key is a string to be displayed in the first component of the picker. The dictionary value for each key is an array of strings. When the left component changes, I'd like the second component to reflect the appropriate values for the key. Finally, I'd like to use the selected values with my labels.
And yes, current code sample can help and is often asked for because it can make clearer what problem a person is having. When you supply code, wrap it in the CODE tags.

I bought a white iPhone 4 and have been disappointed in it's reception compared to my old black one. However call quality is great and the proximity sensor is 1000x better. I'm thinking about swapping it for another one but I'm not convinced anything is really wrong with it.

It's not myspace so much folks as it is all the relatively novice computer users dumping all sort of odd code into their page. WMP is a problem simple because we dont have the latest version windows user have, the easiest thing to do is go to the security tab in safari preferences and un check enable plugins, since ive started that ive not had a single myspace crash.
That's a nice tip. Thanks! But does anyone know if MS ever plans on releasing WMP10?
