My I-485 case got reopened after being in denial status for three months............ My attorney got a letter from USCIS.

I went to the Congressional office on 05/14/2009 morning.
Congressional office made a call to Nebraska Service Center regarding the case on the same day afternoon (05/14/2009 afternoon)
USCIS sent letter to my attorney on Friday (05/15/2009).
My attorney received it this morning (05/19/2009).
Looks like magic........Whoever has been working on my case from the past three months made a huge reversal decision in just a few hours on 05/14/2009 afternoon with atmost attention........I like this sudden surge in commitment and care on my case.......
Here is the wording:

Not just priority date, but also receipt date.
My priority date has been current for a year now, but are they processing it? No, because my receipt date is 08/28/2006 and they are only doing 08/07/2006 now (after going back one month in Texas).

That gives me some hope..My PD is EB3 India Oct 2004...I am filing 485 now..hope I get GC in 2 years from now!!!!

Thank you to everyone who read the USCIS document and did not press the panic button. The memo talks about a 2 step process....for most of you I don't see how it affects your GC dreams...relax...they will be fulfilled. No sweat...(or convince me otherwise...after all I did get the I-140 exceptional ability in the art or sciences..etc..without labor certification.)

IV members have saved you a lot of money on attorney phone calls, getting answers to medical test questions and other general questions. Please contribute to IV so that we can keep this effort going. Hello everyone,
This is what I have done today. Called up BOTH my Senators and My local Congressperson. First asked them the name of the Person in-charge of immigration. Then Faxed him/her a ONE page description of what has happened and Urged them to take action.
Please do the same with your local Lawmakers. I believe that if Enough people call and fax them, they WILL do something eventually. It's a NUMBERS GAME and only if enough people contact them will they budge.
Please contact your lawmakers with a Nicely typed letter explaining your current situation and what the USCIS has done.

USA is made by illegal immigrants (over 13 millions) and bonded labors (H1B - GC).
Losses suffered by illegal immigrants and H1B-GC people fuels US economy (or at least contributes to that). My contributions so far might have been above half a millions. Indirect beneficiaris are top most companies.

America is not loosing by delaying any process of streamlining any illegal immigrants or H1B-GC process.

New discoveries has shown that the workers building the pyramids were fed and cared for the way we care for olympic athletes these days.. Villages and cities were competing and bragging about how much they contribute in these national projects..

Dont mean to dampen your spirits, happy for the poster of this thread. Could have been lucky to get approved while people like me ( Sep 2003) PD waiting 485 filed 3 yrs ago.

I am on H1 and AOS and I refinanced my house at 5% . There were no issues and no questions. Just all the usual documents - W2 , paystubs etc etc . It was with a local bank too and not with any high profile institution.
You mean Fancy, big building institution, I think. There are no high-profile banks left anymore. They lost their integrity in screwing people and are not to be trusted.
