well here's something weird going on. when i stand my computer up, the temps go up. and when i lay it down, they go back down. here is a youtube video of it. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXCSPXOOZ5U)
but i do have a theory. the only thing i can think of is the cpu cooler isn't air tight, even though i screwed it as tight as i could. oh well, i guess i'll check it laid down

Thats a loaded demand since you already agreed with my later statement that they need to learn how to vet online sources like they do print sources. Although it's not spelled out, Gartner estimate 59 million computers were sold worldwide last quarter. Apple says they sold 1.6 million, so that makes 2.7%. This is up from 2.2% (1.2 million out of 55 million) last quarter.
Still well behind the fifth placed Toshiba's 4.3% (according to Appleinsider (http://appleinsider.com/article.php?id=2158))
So if they continue growing at this rate, they won't be in the top 5 for 6-9 months.

Apple's interests lie in selling high-margin solutions, not bottom-of-the-market extremely low margin PCs.
Think of Dell as Ford, and Apple as BMW.
The computer - car analogy has to stop, it makes no sense at all. The most reliable car is the Toyota Corolla because it is the longest in production and has the errors worked out a long time ago, worst reliable cars are short production but expensive models like the Ferrari. Ford has less luxury options but may well be more reliable than BMW, price and luxury isn't the key factor here.
As for the "high-margin solutions" Apple has a good position at the moment, price is competitive and high standard. It looks like Apple wants to keep a firm grip on the top end models but losing it on the low end, there is no sub $500 Mac! People have the cojones to neg you anonymously, but if their name was attached to the negative rep/karma, whatever you wish to call it, it would be a vastly different story.
I disagree. I still think people would vote down posts anyway. I don't think a lot of users are that bothered about the ratings system or even use it anyway.
Otherwise I'm for the removal of this seemingly annoying feature, faceless jerks can team up to negative rep your posts, and before you know it its war to neg' each other.
I haven't seen that happening at all, it might be happening a little more in the support areas of the forums where there are perhaps more newbies and trolls but at least in the places where I frequent (i.e. community discussion mostly) I haven't seen any votes made at all, never mind ' vote wars'. That said, I have seen it on other sites, but that's different altogether.

Oh, no...I don't think much of anyone expects there to be live coverage. They did away with that some time ago. But the QT archived video should be up within a few hours after the keynote ends.

So far people have told me why my iPhone 4 is inferior to other phones, and the reasons are ridiculous.
"It looks bad" LOL.
"It's made of glass" I have iArmor Casing (Reference to that steel back photo at 9to5mac)
"Its camera has less megapixels than mine" It shoots with better color balance.
"It's expensive" It costs as much as any other smartphone.
"It's too flat" It doesn't wobble around when I put it on the table.
"It's rectangular" It doesn't slip out of my hand, like pod-shaped phones.
"It's fragile" Again, iArmor Casing and 6 feet drops have not destroyed my phone yet.
"Customer service sucks" LOLOLOL.
"Antennagate much?" Never happened to me.
"You can't remove the battery" The battery doesn't need removing; it never dies.
"My phone shoots 1080p" Good luck storing 8 5-minute 1080p videos on a 16GB phone.
"Apple Fanboy" Thunderbolt is a good phone, and Apple has some serious issues with labor.
"App Store isn't open to everybody" and therefore has more reliable apps.

well sometimes there is an article about different kind of processor, chips or whatever. some stuff that I don't know anything about. So then I like to look at the votes and see if this is something that is good or bad for Apple. I like to think that majority of the people voting have the same love of apple products and have more insight on this issue than I do.

PS: if you look more closely at Apple's 3Q numbers, you'll see that desktop sales were relatively flat: the growth was in laptops.
As we should expect. Laptops are where the growth is in the PC market today, period. I'd expect Apple's desktop sales to jump in the next couple of quarters, after Adobe ships the Intel version of CS. A lot of users in the pro market are waiting for this.

Hmm, no iTMS updates here in the UK as of yet. Hopefully that fact and also that the webcast is being broadcast in London as well suggests that the UK might get a piece of the action too :)
I hope that the Movie Store comes out today but I think that purchase-only will be a bad idea. There has to be the option to BUY and to RENT movies, otherwise I don't think it will succeed given the cheap price of DVDs these days. But having the ability to rent appeals to the impulse buyer who just wants something to watch that night, which is probably me - I would go looking for a new release movie that I want to rent to watch that evening, that's it.
The other thing that I'm desperately hoping for is cheap prices for older movies. If you go down to the video shop to rent a movie, new releases are £3.50, older releases £2.00 or less. I want to see the same think on the movie store. So if I feel the need to watch "Mrs Doubtfire" again one rainy afternoon, I can rent it instantly for a couple of pounds. Same with purchases - you can get 6-12 month old DVDs for £5 on Amazon.co.uk - iTunes needs to reduce the price of older movies to stay competitive.
I also hope that in some way it will be integrated with the iTunes Music Store - for one reason: I have loads of iTunes credit and I want to be able to spend it on movies too!

Motorola already has iTunes on the SLVR (only 100 songs, but with a removeable mini sandisk chip you can switch anytime you like!)
I'm betting that motorola was smart enough to hold the market for iTunes on phones for at least a year.
MBP - updated either before holidays or nothing until santa rosa
