Do you have SHSH blobs saved for 4.2.1. If you do then upgrade to 4.3.1 and save your SHSH blobs and then downgrade back to 4.2.1 using your 4.2.1 blobs.
This makes absolutely no sense. Even from 4.2.1 you can save your 4.3.1 blobs.

I assume you have system 7 on there?
Try holding down the SHIFT key at startup, that will turn of the extensions. i.e. screen saver loading and should get you in there to disable it

Nope, which is why a lot of people are now telling you to make a trip to the charity in question, and donate directly, instead of donating to somebody collecting money for a charity.
Good thing too. All those 3% mount up. I really hope most are donating direct rather than through Spymac or others like them (taking a cut).

Hi all,
Just incase anyone stumbles across this thread when they are having similar issues I wanted to post an update.
It sounds so simple but I think my wake issues may have actually just been down to weak batteries in my keyboard.
After 10.6.7 some people were reporting that they were getting the wrong battery life metering for wireless devices. Some people had their power levels stuck at 100% even though the batteries had previously been showing 50% depletion before updating to 10.6.7
My keyboard was showing 46% yesterday but I thought to eliminate the possibility of the mac pro waking due to a lost keyboard connection due to weak batteries, I changed them out for fresh batteries.
My mac went to sleep last night and slept the whole night, until I woke it this morning.
I'll try it again later but I'm pretty certain that's all it was.
Oh well, at least I've got a freshly installed OS and clean running machine now, even though all I actually needed to do was swap some batteries! :)

Make sure you securely wipe the drive before you give it away. If its an SSD, you need to encrypt the volume before wiping it. Otherwise a 7 way random re-write should do the trick. (It will take a while to perform.)

The biggest difference is others started shipping/advertising those computers before apple

I presume since this uses the undocumented (apart from the header files) IOConnectCallMethod it would not be OK to include in an app for the Mac App Store?
You'll probably have to try it to find out for sure.
However, a google search for IOConnectCallMethod found this:
http://lists.apple.com/archives/darwin-drivers/2008/mar/msg00007.html
It suggests IOConnectCall* functions are newer replacements for older deprecated functions. So using the older functions WOULD get you rejected, but the newer ones, I dunno: try it and see what happens.

Wondering if anyone has found the side bar icons and system folders, etc in Lion. In /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources I found png's for sidebar icons in sizes 16/18/32 (most likely small/medium/large?). I replaced them with custom color icons I created as I hate the grey sidebar icons but it didn't seem to take (I was able to replace a lot of the system icons manually).
Any idea's?

Not sure what you are looking at, since 3 drives is sort of an odd combination. I have a 2009/2010 Mac Pro Nehalem, running the apple sas card for the 4 internal bays (yes I know they make adapters to use 3rd party cards), and the performance is fair, not great but fair. About 300Mb/s read/write with 4 WD Black edition drives (1tb each). Externally, running an Areca 1680x card, with a 8 drive ProAvio chassis, 8 SAS Seagate 15k7 drives (450GB) which gives close to 900MB/s. I have tried multiple cards over the years, nano and I have exchanged lots of posts/messages. Email/PM me with specific questions and I will try and help you. Beware of most of these 3rd party slot adapters/etc. they are more hassle than they are worth.

There are many 40 pin ZIF to sata adapters out there... what's needed is actually a LIF adapter. According to other forums, this could do this job:
http://www.amazon.com/RunCore-Enclosure-Solid-State-Drive/dp/B0043090YA
I'm ordering one today and will post results.

I don't have a machine with IE6 on so can't see the issue directly. However running your page through the W3C validator shows no errors in the html so it's unlikely to be that. When you say "just highlights the input box as if it is active", what do you mean? This, unless I've misunderstood what you have written, is the default for any browser.
Can you enter text in to the input box? Any other symptoms?
I mean when clicking on the input box instead of it focusing on the input box for text entry, it instead focuses on the submit button.
While ie6 is not my target platform since the site worked so far without any alterations i don't mind supporting it.

right -- just tried 2-3 different ways to get some qt streams. indeed, i got a couple stations playing classical music (WGBH Boston, WCPE), but all the selections that were always there in the past are gone, e.g. npr, cnn, abc, bbc etc. either an error (-2129) on trying to open, or the blurb about channel selection having changed, please update your existing software. i have tried to update, and i assure, there are no updates available.
