Heh. Well, it looks like my brother is getting a Mac mini for christmas. (he's stuborn as hell I can't believe I switched him :D) So, I get the advantage of putting all his junk on it, including music, etc. He fricken' loves myspace. Everytime he tries to go there, it either freezes up Safari and FireFox or it says it needs an unknown plugin. WTF?
How do I get MySpace (http://myspace.com) working - oh, and it's the profiles w/ music and videos, etc that don't work.

Seriously! I was the only person at the AT&T store the evening of the iPhone launch that wasn't buying one, and there were about 40 people. Couple people thought I was nuts (only waited about an hour), but I was there for the :apple: experience!

Without wishing to breach the piracy regs on MR have you considered changing the firmware on your PSP to an open version? Then you can stick all your legally owned games onto your memory stick and switch between them when you get bored. Saves carrying around a load of UMDs, or you can stick ripped films on there.

We've requested that both ads be removed from the ad pool.
How long does it take for them to remove them? They're still coming up more than a week later, and I'm tempted to install an ad blocker (though I won't).

Hi all,
Just curious to see how many have a apple laptop and and Ipad. Work just bought me a MBP last week and I already have a Ipad 2. Just trying to justify the two, maybe I sell the ipad 2 because I have to keep the laptop. By the way, I love both of them...I use the Ipad 2 for reading books, magazines etc...

I sold my iPad 2 and purchased the MacBook Pro. It's not about money, it had more to do with justification. I will forever miss some of the games on my iPad but that's about it. Netflix looks way better on my MacBook.

Second, upgrading the RAM or hard drive yourself is not a violation of warranty, so there's no need to put the original RAM back before service. waw74: It sounds like airplay speakers would be the best bet for ease of setup (in theory). The ihome option looks really nice - what a bummer they aren't available yet. Looks like the only AirPlay speaker available now is the Zeppelin Air ($600 apiece, so $1200 for a pair...wow). I'm a bit confused why it has a dock though, since it seems the reason for buying one would be to use airplay, but maybe I am missing the point.

I would buy 2 Airport Expresses. I would connect my MBP to one AirPort Express (no internet connection needed), and then have the AirPort Express create a wireless network, which I could then connect the second AirPort Express to using my MBP. The just plug speakers in the Expresses on opposite sides of the room, and I'll be good to go, correct?

From what I read the L'Equipe evidence was inconclusive - no definitive proof.
I hope Lance is telling the truth, I certainly want to believe him.
It's also important to remember that EPO or other red-blood cell boosting drugs are used to treat cancer - perhaps in 199 his system was still out of balance as a result of his cancer treatment. Just speculation though.

EDIT: If you choose .htaccess files, do _not_ use 744 or 755. You want these to be 644, maximum.
Would you care to elaborate on this, and its security implications?
Also, if you modify your httpd.conf file (which *is* the best method, but rarely available in shared hosting environments), don't forget to restart Apache ;)

I need an ATI PCI Video card that'll work with my PowerMac G3 B&W. I'm currently using an old PCI card from my old PowerMac 9600 so if I could replace it in time for christmas (I'm giving the computer away as a gift to my Grandma) then that would be fantastic.

Well the cursor is not as fast as in Windows, but it's managable.

Whats the different between these drivers and the latest and greatest that are available on the Canon website?
I don't think there's a difference. I think this is simply a package with a bunch of drivers like how Windows does so that when you plug in a Canon printer the driver is there instead of having to install the individual drivers from the website or CD that comes with the printer.

Here's a question that's been bugging me for a while. If you have a headless PC, does it need a video card in it?
The way I see it, it shouldn't because there's no monitor attached to it, but at the same time, VNC outputs what is on the monitor, which is driven by a video card. I've always wondered this, and I'm too lazy to pull the video card from my comp....

Do you know if the external harddrive was formatted to NTFS?
what you need to do is move all the files to a PC, then reformat the external drive to FAT (best to do it with the mac)
then you can move your files back from the PC to the external hard drive and your MAC should be able to see them.
*note, if you have old fonts you need to move you should ZIP everything first on the PC
