i don't think the rogers video stores will have the phones. if i go, i will probably be going to the rogers store at 2599 pembina highway, since it's fairly close to my place. i don't think i'll be getting the phone since i am only 14 and have about $20 right now, but i'm gonna see if i can line up for the free breakfast! :D
EDIT: woops. the store i was going to go to is not participating in the launch, according to rogers.com. so i'll be going to the one at 1225 St Mary's Road if i end up going.

Do you prefer to work from one 'main' computer or more?
Using one main computer has it's benefits, everything is in one place, no juggling files or file syncing software. It's easy to stay focused working from one desktop.
But, if you have mobility in mind you'd need the computer to be a notebook and work with a limited screen size or add an external display .... but then there's the plugging/unplugging all day, files need to be kept in sync...

just put 8 gb kingston in today. got it on ebay for $70. its really fast. no issues with installation or anything.

It's worth about $15. In ten years maybe $10.
In thirty years, if it still works and you can find some packaging for it (Original is best) - You might get $300 or so for it (Thats what decent nick 20year old rare models go for now, so since yours isnt particularly rare, thats what Id expect its max price to be if it was fully functional at 40something

Actually, the term ISO is just short for the organization that provides standards on film speed (and before it was ISO, it was ASA.) I don't see what value trying to rename it has- you still have to know what that is, and how it applies, and since you can assign that information to the term ISO and not break every photographic instruction ever made or make the remaining film cameras suddenly "different" than digital, I don't see a big gain (pun intended) in going from a three letter abbreviation to a word.

Premiere will use the other cores, but for me i'd rather 4/6 cores with a higher clock speed and the matrox compressHD card, than a more expensive 8/12 core machine, with lower clock speed and no budget left for the compress card.
I understand. I'm honestly thinking of purchasing an iMac (after the refresh). I'll add the maximum amount of Ram (or atleast 16GB) and get the best processor from the Apple Website. I think that will be the best option for me. If I become unhappy, I'll sell my iMac or return it within the 30 Day Mark.

Well, I'm not familiar with your location :D , but if you're in the states, you might want to check out EB Games/Gamestop/Rhino. Normally, these stores aren't worth the hassle, but when looking for old game accessories, you gotta take what you can get. Also, look for garage sales. Might be able to pick one up for very little, though you stand the chance of spending more on gas then on the product itself. Then, there's always ebay.

HDMI is basically DVI + Audio. VGA can't compare nor can component when it comes to bandwidth.

Besides those of you who got to be at NAMM, I really want to know more about FCX. I read the blogs and watched the bad video of the show except I really want to know more about FCX. It's under a month away so why keep so much secret... This is an application not an iPhone so I don't see a reason not to go into more detail. Just put up on the website. Yes my patience is wearing thin because I have been waiting for an update for a very long time. In my view I don't see a problem with apple telling us more about this product.
I'm obviously excited and from what I read many others are to, so just give us a little info to hold us over.

Just because it was intended for in-house or business-to-business use doesn't mean it has to look like crap. We produce a fair amount of in-house promos that either go to the marketing/sales reps or get shown off to the suits up stairs and the videos look as slick as anything you'd see on TV.

Ok, so lets say I go with 3rd party memory. If I have an unrelated problem with the MBP, would I need to put the original memory back in before taking it in for service?

I swapped out the factory ram with some stuff from OWC. I will keep my factory ram, FYI. As you state, if I have a problem, then Apple cannot give me crap for using third party ram. If the problem is ram related or I suspect a ram issue, then I have my original ram to replace the OWC stuff and conduct tests. It's a win-win situation honestly. Hope this helps.

With the update, the application can now download higher-resolution versions of images hosted on MobileMe when used on an iPhone 4 and connecting over Wi-Fi. I'v been using Windows since my whole life untill 2003 when I switched to Linux. Then used linux for 2 years and when It was time for a new computer I was gonna order a dell laptop. So I found the one I like and ordered it, but the next day I got a e-mail saying that my credit card was rejected...So I went to school and my friend told me about the Mac Mini and I needed a new computer for Video Editin mostly. SO decided to order that with a sexy 17' Samsun LCD. I will Never use windows, but I will have Linux as my second computer, but Mac as the primary one :D

Sorry but not going to go with the standard Apple coping crap here. Apple copies a lay out that was out for those web pages with flash games.
On top of that it looks a lot like the game folder on Windows Vista/7. On top of that MS called apple on saying App Store was generic looks like they are making the point even bigger now.

I recommend reading the FAQ on graphics cards on cubeowner.com. Many cards will not fit, or will require a VRM move. In fact, most cards will require a VRM move, except for some flashed 5200's and Radeon 9000's. Also there are some GeForce3 and 2 cards that fit without a VRM move. They have a good list with specifics, check it out.

After being down for nearly a day, it is STILL NOT available for download. I just don't like the fact that all iOS product being the slaves of iTunes. (Now it is available for windows and still not for mac, apple fix mac things first!).
I never thought of iTunes, as the most essential software for all the iOS devices. I realized it, when I deleted iTunes due to sync issues and could not find a installable copy from Apple.com or any where.
Next time, download first, before deleting for re-install. :eek:

Arrived at about 7:10AM and was about number 30 out of 40 phones. The line took around 3.5 hours. Not too bad. They were expecting their second shipment this afternoon but it ended up arriving around 11AM. The people at the end of the line were stoked! They were sold out of phones though once the line gets their phones.
